TownJobBoard
issue 03/the board/October 2026

Every job in town, on one page.

Employers around town post their vacancies here — the cafe on the square, the builders yard, the care home, the distribution depot out on the bypass. You search the board, read the full listing, and apply straight to the person doing the hiring. No account, no CV upload, no middleman taking a cut. Listings are checked before they go live, so what you read is a real job with a real contact behind it.

What people are hiring for

The board leans on the trades and the high street, but there is office and care work in there too. Pick a section to narrow the list.

How the board works

1. Employers post

Anyone hiring fills in one short form: the role, the hours, the pay if they want to say, and the email applications should go to. It takes about three minutes.

2. It gets checked

Every listing is read before it appears, so the board stays free of scams, dead ads and reposted agency spam. Approved posts go live the same day, usually within a few hours.

3. You apply by email

Send your details straight to the employer from the listing page. You can also send a copy to the board so we can nudge them if they go quiet.

Looking for work?

Two things worth doing before you apply. First, write three lines about what you have actually done — the shift patterns you can cover, the tickets or licences you hold, the machines you can drive. Local employers read those three lines far more closely than a long CV. Second, say when you can start. Most vacancies on this board are filled within a fortnight, and the person who can start on Monday usually wins.

If you are not sure what a listing is asking for, email the employer and ask. Nobody has ever been turned down for asking a sensible question.
